The terms covering Brane
These terms cover the Brane web platform at thebrane.app and the Brane Field phone app. By signing up, or by using Brane on behalf of a company that has, you agree to them. Effective October 18, 2026.
Who we are
Brane is operated by Murder Dog LLC, 7785 Robinson Way, Arvada, CO 80004. You can reach us about anything here at dog@murderdog.ai. In these terms "Brane", "we" and "us" mean Murder Dog LLC; "you" means the company using Brane, and the people it lets in.
What Brane is
Brane is a work tool for roofing and other service companies. A company signs up, adds its office staff, and invites its crew members to the Brane Field app. It holds your jobs, customers, photos, documents, messages and money records, and it drafts work for your people to review.
Brane is software. It is not an insurance adjuster, a contractor, an engineer, a lawyer or an accountant, and nothing it produces is professional advice.
Your account
You need an account, and the company that signs up is responsible for what happens in it: who is invited, what permissions they hold, and what they do. Keep sign-in details to yourself and tell us at dog@murderdog.ai if you think somebody has got into your account who should not have.
Crew members reach the Brane Field app through an invite from their own company. That invite pairs one phone. A company can remove a crew member at any time, which ends their access.
Pilot accounts
Brane is in beta. A shop before launch is on a Pilot: the software is free, with no end date and no clock on it, and we will tell you before that changes. During the pilot we do not promise any particular uptime, and features may change, move or be withdrawn while we are still building them. The supplement share below still applies on a Pilot.
What it costs
Paid plans are priced per shop by the number of crews, with office seats included, and the current prices are on the pricing page. Plans include monthly allowances for the things that cost us money to run, such as AI work, texts, call minutes and storage. Going over an allowance is charged at the rates shown on that page.
The supplement share. When Brane drafts a supplement and the carrier approves additional money on that claim, we take 6% of the approved additional amount. If nothing is approved, you owe nothing on it. This is charged in arrears alongside your plan.
Fees are exclusive of tax. Card processing fees charged by our payment provider are yours. We can change prices with at least 30 days' notice; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Your information belongs to you
The jobs, customers, photos, documents and messages your company puts into Brane are yours. We act on your behalf in holding them. We use them to run the service for you, to keep it secure, and to support you when you ask. What we collect and who helps us run it is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
You can export your data while your account is open, and you can ask us to delete it. We may keep what the law requires us to keep, and backups roll off on their own schedule.
We may use information about how Brane is used, in a form that does not identify you or your customers, to make the product better.
What the brain drafts, a person sends
Brane writes drafts: review replies, customer messages, supplement letters, invoices, outreach. A person at your company approves before anything reaches a customer. That is how the product is built and it is not a setting you can turn off.
What that means for you: you are responsible for what you send. Read it first. AI output can be wrong, out of date, or confidently mistaken about your job, and the person pressing send is the one making the claim.
Supplements and insurance claims
Brane reads the carrier's estimate, compares it against the code and the manufacturer's instructions, and drafts a request for the work it thinks was left out. A person at your company reviews that letter, signs it and submits it.
Brane is not a public adjuster and does not negotiate, adjust or settle claims on behalf of any policyholder. Several states require a licence to do that. Your company deals with the carrier, and your company is responsible for being licensed and permitted to do what it does on a claim in the states where it works. We make no promise that any supplement will be approved.
Permit and code rules
Brane keeps a reference of permitting and code requirements by jurisdiction. A rule is only shown as verified once a person at Brane has checked it against the source document it came from, and we show you that source.
It is still a reference. Codes are amended, towns adopt them on their own schedule, and the authority having jurisdiction is the authority, not us. Check with the building department before you rely on it for a job.
Texts, calls and email
Brane can send texts, place calls and send email from your shop's own numbers and addresses. You are responsible for having the right to contact the people you contact, for honouring opt-outs, and for following the rules that apply to business messaging where you work. Brane records opt-outs and holds sends inside quiet hours, but it cannot know whether a number in your account agreed to hear from you.
Call recording is off unless you turn it on for a call, and when it is on, both sides are told before the call is joined. Some states require that. Leave it on only where you are entitled to record.
Using Brane properly
Do not use Brane to:
- break the law, or help somebody else break it;
- send messages to people who have not agreed to hear from you;
- upload someone else's information you have no right to hold;
- attack, probe or overload the service, or try to reach another company's account;
- resell Brane, or use it to build a competing product.
We can suspend an account that is doing one of these, or that is not paying, and we will tell you why.
Services we build on
Brane runs on other companies' services, and connects to the ones you choose to connect. Those have their own terms with you or with us, and we are not responsible for what they do or for the accuracy of what they return. Weather, storm and property data in particular is third-party information and is an estimate.
Stopping
You can stop at any time. Cancel and your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund part of a period. Supplement shares already earned on approved claims are still owed.
We can end these terms with 30 days' notice, or straight away if you are seriously misusing the service. If we end it without cause we refund the unused part of what you have paid. Either way, export your data first; we keep it available for 30 days after an account closes.
What we do and do not promise
We work hard to keep Brane up and correct, and we do not promise it will be either. The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. In particular we do not promise that drafts are accurate, that a supplement will be approved, that a rule reference is current, or that the service will be uninterrupted.
To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability in any twelve month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You will cover us against claims arising from your use of Brane, from what you send with it, and from your dealings with your own customers and carriers.
Changes
We may change these terms. If a change matters we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and carrying on using Brane after that is how you accept it. The date at the top says when this version started.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Colorado, and the courts of Colorado are where disputes are heard.
